Their ITZY label partners present a version of their 2019 single ‘Icy’.
On June 24, the South Korean television network KBS broadcast a special program for its weekly music show Music Bank, featuring some of its best chart – makers in the first half of the year. During the episode, JYP Entertainment ‘s latest girls’ group took to the stage to share their performance of ITZY’s 2019 hit “Icy”.
The NMIXX version of “Icy” remained largely faithful to the original, with minor changes to the choreography of the song to accommodate the seven members of the group. “Everyone talks blah blah / a lot but I don’t care / they keep blah blah / they keep talking, I keep walking,” they rap in the chorus.
In May, the septet performed “Loco” ITZY in a mix of songs from JYP’s list of women artists, both past and present, on their YouTube channel. NMIXX also featured hit clips such as ‘Like Ooh-aah’ and ‘The Feels’ TWICE, ‘Hush’ Miss A, and Wonder Girls ‘Why So Lonely’, among others.
KCON also announced earlier this month that NMIXX had entered the lineup for its upcoming 2022 LA Festival, along with acts like ITZY, STAYC, ENHYPEN, and many more. This will be the rookie group’s second time performing at KCON, having been present at “KCON Premiere 2022” earlier this year.
NMIXX debuted in February with the single album ‘Ad Mare’, which featured the title track ‘OO’ and a B side titled ‘Tank’. In a two star review of the release, Tanu I. Raj de NMEwrites that the first track mixes genres “only tries to distract for a long time”.
