Watch Drake Reconcile With Meek Mill At A Recent Concert In Philly
Drake surprised fans in Philadelphia on his ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour when he hung out with hometown hero Meek Mill after the two had a fling in the past.
The Canadian rapper is currently on tour with his friend and frequent collaborator 21 Savage. During the “It’s All A Blur” tour, the two present their collaborative album “Her Loss” across North America, as well as their respective viral songs.
On Monday (July 31), the tour stopped in the City of Brotherly Love. Taking the stage with Meek Mill behind Drake, greeting the fans. “You see who I’m with out here, right?” said Drizzy when he took the stage before paying respects to his one-time rival. “I’ll always be with you. The last time I was in this building, that guy here, he’s been representing this city since he started this shit.”
He mentioned that he wasn’t comfortable staying in the capital too long the last time he performed in Philadelphia: “That guy, he and I weren’t together at the time, and he’s a real person n* *** so it definitely got us out of Philly very quickly. We couldn’t wait to rest.” However, it should be noted that the last time Drake was in town, back in 2018, he brought out the “King of Philly” for ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ do.
The 36-year-old continued: “The thing that means the most to me is to be able to come back to this city and show that we’re grown as two men, that we can come here tonight and to represent Philadelphia fucking together. So that I can appreciate Meek walking on stage with me tonight. Philly, I thank you that I have an open hand again.”
In 2015, Meek Mill and Drake got into a heated dispute after Mill accused 6God of using ghosts. This led to the release of the Grammy-winning rapper’s two iconic discord songs, “Charged Up” and “Back To Back.” The feud between the two rappers spilled over into their real lives.
In 2016, the Philadelphia native brought in hundreds of “thugs” to fight Drake after he performed at the Wells Fargo Center during his ‘Summer Sixteen’ tour. This caused the OVO camp to flee the scene. Two years after the feud, Drake and Meek Mill officially settled their feud, when the two reunited on stage in Boston and Drake collaborated on Mill’s single “Going Bad.”
There were many more viral moments from the “It’s All A Blur” tour. At the first concert in Chicago, Drake had to delay his performance due to a sperm hologram floating in the stadium before he was hit in the arm by a fan’s phone. Fans also threw bras, vaporizers, and even their bags at Drake.
After finding the vape on stage, Drake lectured the crowd, telling them “There’s no way you’re taking life seriously if you think I’m going to take this vape and vape with you at Barclays fucking center.”
On the other hand, Drake is collaborating on Travis Scott’s latest album, UTOPIA. In “MELTDOWN”, he and Scott appear to be taking jabs at Pharrell Williams, Timothée Chalamet and Pusha T. The same week, the “God’s Plan” rapper bought Tupac’s custom diamond ring for $1 million. ).
In July, Drake announced his first poetry book Titles Ruin Everything, A Stream of Consciousness. Hours before his post, he also confirmed a companion album called “For All The Dogs.” Speaking to the crowd at his recent concert in New York, he said the record would be out “in two weeks.”
