A new video has been released showing Colin Farrell’s transformation into the Penguin for The Batman.
In the clip, the actress is seen doing a four-hour prosthetic checkup to become a Batman villain, directed by makeup artist Mike Marino.
“I will say it is one of the most exciting, delightful and celebratory experiences I have had in filmmaking for 20 years,” Farrell says in the video.
Oswald Cobblepot, aka the Penguin, is one of the villains in The Batman, along with The Riddler (Paul Dano) and Carmine Falcone (John Turturro).
The character will return for an off-series on HBO Max that will cover the events of the film.
“It simply came to our notice then [el director] Matt Reeves was created for The Batman one that deserves a deeper look through the eyes of Oswald Cobblepot, “said Farrell.
“I could not be more excited to continue this exploration of Oz as he ascends the dark stages to become The Penguin. It’s nice to be back on the streets of Gotham with a bit of rage and a bit of. . “
The series will be written and presented by Lauren LeFranc (Impulse, Agents of SHIELD). It will feature executive performances by Reeves, Farrell, LeFranc and The Batman producer Dylan Clark.
In a four-star review of The Batman, NME wrote: “Director Matt Reeves has blended mob drama with film noir detective thriller – and thanks to ultra-creepy villain Paul Dano, some psychological horror too.
“Most of the time he does it brilliantly. Pattinson plays it with dour fanaticism that only occasionally slips into parody.”
