Vinland Saga Season 2 has revealed a preview for episode 2, titled “Ketil’s Farm,” which is scheduled to air on Monday, January 16. Studio MAPPA animated the series. The official website describes the plot of the upcoming episode as:
The Danish landowner Ketil orders his slave Einar to work with Thorfinn to exploit a vast forest.
Einar is excited by the condition that he will be given “freedom” if the value of the crops from the cultivated fields exceeds his own price. However, Thorfinn’s expression remained as grim as ever.

A new millennium begins in the southern part of the Jutland peninsula in Denmark. After the death of his longtime enemy, Askelad, Torfin loses his purpose in life. He was bought by the landowner Ketil as a “slave” and engaged in land reclamation on his farm. Thorfinn meets a young man there, Einar, who was also a slave like him. Meeting Einar makes Thorfinn face the sins he has committed and begins to find meaning in life.
