Toyah Willcox and Robert Fripp share a collection of ‘Sunday Lunch’ bloopers

Today (August 28) Toyah Willcox and Robert Fripp shared a special edition of Sunday Lunch, featuring nothing but bloopers from their popular YouTube series.

The Sunday Lunch series will begin in 2020, and Willcox explained last year that it came from a desire to keep Fripp inspired and entertained during the shutdowns forced by the coronavirus. Here I am, in this house, with a 74-year-old husband who I don’t want to live without,” she told the Guardian. “He was retiring, so I thought, ‘I’m going to teach him how to dance.’ And it was a challenge.”

Since then, the pair have been covering a mountain of songs every Sunday from their kitchen, with Limp Bizkit’s ‘Nookie’ last week (August 21).

This week, the pair has rummaged through the archives and compiled all the mistakes and false starts of the show: “Sometimes things don’t go as they are supposed to,” the video begins.

Check it out below.

Earlier this month, the couple covered Grace Jones’ “Slave To The Rhythm”, which they performed from a construction site. Simon Darlow, the ex-Buggles member who played on Willcox’s recent album, “Posh Pop”, joined the pair to form Posh Pop Three.

Before that, Willcox and Fripp shared their version of Ozzy Osbourne’s 1980 hit “Crazy Train” in the traditional setting of their home kitchen. This was the second time the pair paid tribute to the Prince of Darkness: One of their first videos was Sunday Lunch, from November 2020, as a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid.”

Other recent covers include “Are You Gonna Go My Way” by Lenny Kravitz, “Back In Black” by AC/DC, “Keine Lust” by Rammstein, “Psychosocial” by Slipknot and “Rebel Yell” by Billy Idol, among many others.
