‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’ Cover Group The 900 Playing With Tony Hawk: ‘There Was A Precious Moment’
During a concert at Haggerston’s Signature Brew in London on Saturday (June 30), skateboarding legend Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater cover group The 900 took to the stage, providing vocals for two songs featured in the game.
On stage, Hawk sang “Superman” by Goldfinger and “Bloodstains” by Agent Orange, which appeared in the first and fourth Pro Skater games respectively.
Speaking to NME, The 900 explained that Hawk played with the band after seeing them perform Instagram. Hawk informed the band that he was “going to try and get a gig while I’m in England”, and The 900 “took the opportunity to ask him if he’d be willing to do a few songs with us – good luck. for us.” And the community said yes.
Hawk was greeted on stage by the crowd chanting his name, with The 900 describing an “unbelievable” reaction to the skateboarding star’s appearance. With Hawk on vocals, The 900 went on to play Goldfinger’s “Superman” and Agent Orange’s “Bloodstains”, which appeared in the first and fourth Pro Skater games respectively.

While playing ‘Bloodstains’, Seahawk told the audience that it was one of his “gateways” into rock music. After the concert, Hawk said that ‘Bloodstains’ was “one of the first punk songs I heard as a kid and it was the catalyst for composing game soundtracks.” [Pro Skater]“.
“We’re very grateful that he agreed to do it,” shared The 900, adding that “it was a precious moment for everyone present”, including Hawk, who “seemed he was excited to go on stage to sing the songs”.
For the 900, who formed as a “generic cover band” before pivoting to Pro Skater covers to have more fun with their performances, the night was just as good. “Not only did we get to meet one of our idols and play on stage, but we knew it would be the best surprise for the crowd,” The 900 said, adding that ” it was a night that all of us will never forget. “
