A recent leak claimed that the light novels were written by Ren Eguchi and illustrated by dough, Tondemo Skill of Isekai Hourou Meshi (Campfire Cooking in Another Life with My Absurd Skill), will be an anime adaptation. The leak confirmed that the production is in the lead at the studios MAPbut it is worth mentioning that there is no official confirmation yet.
If the leak is confirmed, this will be the studio’s first light novel adaptation project. MAPAdditionally, this is the first isekai themed anime produced by the studios. It is worth remembering that the story takes place in another world is not “isekai”, since the main character must come from Earth.
Ren Eguchi Y dough they started publishing the light novels in November 2016 through the publisher overlapand manga adaptation by hand K Akagishi published through the digital service Comic Gardo from the same publisher as of March 2017. This is Eguchi’s first novel, so there aren’t many references to his previous work.
Tondemo Isekai Hourou Meshi Skill Summary
Along with three other heroes, 27-year-old Mukouda Tsuyoshi is transported into a fantasy world to save a kingdom from a mysterious threat. However, it soon becomes clear that Tsuyoshi was drawn into the summoning ritual by accident. It turns out that his only ability is “Food Menu”, which allows him to open an interface where he can buy and receive supermarket items related to modern Japanese food.
Tsuyoshi is unceremoniously banished from the palace, and Tsuyoshi strikes out on his own in his new life. However, his ability to create delicious dishes unknown in this world soon pays off, even attracting the legendary wolf Fenrir. Fenrir is so taken with the food that the creature immediately makes a contract with Tsuyoshi, knowing him. Along with this capricious mythical being, Tsuyoshi takes up a job as a merchant and adventurer, traveling and cooking delicious meals that surprise the inhabitants of this world.
