Ticketmaster France suspends ticket sales for Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour due to website issues
Ticketmaster France has suspended ticket sales for Taylor Swift’s upcoming “Eras” tour dates due to issues with the website.
The issue came to light today (July 11), after tickets for the pop star’s European and UK tour went on sale. To buy tickets, fans first had to register and receive a unique code that gave them access to tickets in the city of their choice.
However, when the tickets went on sale this morning, French fans ran into problems when the site started to crash and sales stopped.
“Some of you may be experiencing issues with the site this morning – we’re working on it and will let you know,” the company first wrote on its Twitter page.
About an hour later, he confirmed that tickets for the upcoming concert in Paris had been suspended due to the ongoing problems experienced by fans and confirmed that he would announce a new on-sale time shortly.
“Taylor Swift Sell […] The Eras Tour for Paris La Défense Arena has been suspended,” read the translation update. “We will keep you informed with a new time on sale as soon as possible. All unused codes will remain valid.”
The dates, announced last month, will bring Swift to the international stages of her critically acclaimed “Eras” tour, following multiple performances in North America. The UK and European tour will begin on 9 May 2024 in Paris and will end on 17 August 2024 in London.
This isn’t the first time the site has struggled to function after Swift concert tickets went on sale. In November, it was reported that the scene was experiencing “historically unprecedented demand” after tickets for the US dates went on sale.
Although some fans complained on social media about the long waiting times, Ticketmaster denied that the law caused disruptions, as people were still “actively buying tickets”.
However, the company’s support account on Twitter said it was “aware that fans may experience occasional issues with the site” and that Ticketmaster was “working urgently to resolve these issues”.
In other Swift news, last week the singer announced the addition of 14 new “Eras” tour dates across the UK and EU, with Paramore opening. The new gigs seem to rule her out as a possible headliner for Glastonbury 2024.
