The toilet-themed film Hanako-kun Spin-Off is getting an anime adaptation

Spin-off manga Hanako-kun after school is getting an anime adaptation. This is the first part of Toilet bound Hanako-kun a new anime project that was announced earlier. Studio Lerche will animate the adaptation, which will have short episodes. Each episode will air two days early on Crunchyroll starting October 10.

Masaki Kitamura will direct the series and Kazuma Nagatomo will be in charge of series composition. Aya Higami will be the lead animation director and character designer. Hiroshi Takaki will compose the music. The cast includes Megumi Ogata as Hanako-kun, Akari Kito as Nene Yashiro, and Shoya Chiba as Ko Minamoto.

The anime is based on a manga by AidaIro.Yen Pressdescribes the plot as:
“Hanako-san, Hanako-san…are you there?” Rumors abound at Kamome Academy about the school’s seven mysteries, one of which is Hanako-san. Said to occupy the third cubicle of the girls’ restroom on the third floor of the old school building, Hanako-san grants any wish when called upon. Nene Yashiro, an occult-loving high school girl who dreams of romance, ventures into this haunted bathhouse…but the Hanako-san she meets there is not what she imagined! Hanako-san from Kamome Academy… is a boy!

The spin-off manga began serialization in 2018.
