Rise of the Shield Hero Season 3 revealed a new trailer earlier today. The anime starts airing this October. Cinema Citrus is animating. MADKID performs the opening theme song ‘SIN’ and Chiai Fujikawa is responsible for the ending theme song ‘Suki ni Natte wa Ikenai Riyu’.
Hitoshi Haga directed the third season, with Keigo Koyonagi in the series cast (Kinema Citrus is also credited). Kevin Penkin composed the music. Rise of the Shield Hero 3 had an early screening at this year’s Anime Expo where a new key visual was also revealed:
The second season ofRise of the Shield Herothe anime adaptation premiered in April of last year after being pushed back from its originally planned premiere of October 2021. Masato Jinbo directed the second season, with Keigo Koyanagi as series composer. Masahiro Suwa is credited for character design. Kevin Penkin returned to compose the score. DR Movie worked on the animation along with Kinema Citrus. Kinema Citrus animated the first season, which premiered in 2019. The anime is based on a light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi and illustrated by Minami Seira.

Iwatani Naofumi, an ordinary otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the four cardinal heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the shield hero. Excited by the prospect of a great adventure, Naofumi sets off with his group. But just a few days later he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he hires a slave named Raphtalia and takes over the Waves and the world. But will he really find a way to turn this desperate situation around?
