The original CloverWorks, Tokyo 24-ku anime would have a terrible production

As the new original anime from the studios Cloverworks, Tokyo 24-ku (Tokyo Twenty – fourth Bard), approaching its premiere on January 5, the director of animation, Kiminori itou, sharing his pessimistic thoughts about the production of the soul on his Twitter account. Not only did he honestly say that it's too long to produce, it's also sad that there will be an animation breakdown in future episodes.

The red flags began on October 24, shortly after the anime was officially announced. The author said that it was part of the production, and later that day he wrote “CloverWorks has three series in the works for January. The fact of the matter is that Tokyo was announced 24-ku (Tokyo's Twenty-Fourth Bard) because its calendar is the most recent“.

Itou's jobs gradually became more pessimistic in November. On November 1, he wrote: “You'll find that this happens all the time in recent anime: Designs will appear, and an episode director will go on with design checks, but there is no animation director”(The role of an animation director is to ensure that the animation conforms to the character design templates, redrafting the frames if necessary).

The next day, he wrote: “I'm on board a passing ship! We're about to sink! Hahaha“. The next day: “I've been involved in a lot of work with low quality drawings, but this time I seem to be in for an animation crisis … I'm just kidding“.

On November 15, he wrote: “Sucks the schedule (poop emoji), which reminds me of CloverWorks dark history (formerly Koenji Pictures A-1): Code Qualidea (sic)A – 1 Pictures produced the anime Qualidea Code, first broadcast in 2016. Itou also did a sarcastic post: «* In lighting condition * Don't worry, we can always source main animation, intermediate animation, painting and composition overseas!». Another says of his bitterness the following «A director of animation leads a relaxed life, a glass of wine in one hand while making light and easy changes on the faces only. There was a time when I thought like this».

On November 30, he wrote: «It's very difficult, man. I am about to die». On December 10, he gave a clear update on the status of the production, saying that episode 1 still has incomplete designs, with another 20 cuts that must go through the animation lead. On December 17, he wrote: «Leave it already! I have no life!». On 19 December, he again referred to the production crisis: «When will the animation get worse? The job I am doing right now!»On December 21, he noted that a group of animators were added at the last minute of the first episode to avoid a complete collapse. Last December 21 was his most recent post referring to the show, when he published a photo of himself lying on the studio floor with the comment: «I'm camping here tonight».
