A press release reported that the manga is written and illustrated by norio sakurai, Boku no Kokoro or Yabai Yatsu (The Dangers in My Heart), will have an anime adaptation that will be released in 2023 in Japan. Production details will be announced at a later date, and the author shared a special illustration to celebrate the adaptation announcement:
Sakurai started publishing the manga through the service Cross Sleeve from the publisher Akita shot in March 2018, and the publisher will publish the seventh compilation volume on August 8 in Japan. The work has accumulated over 2.3 million copies in circulation and received first place in the survey “Manga you want to see animated” was made during the Japanese anime in the year 2021.
Summary of Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu
Kyoutaro Ichikawa may look like your typical high school student, but in his heart he dreams of murder. So it’s no surprise that the person he wants to kill the most isn’t far from his mind: class idol Anna Yamada. Reading alone in the library of his beloved school, he accidentally starts running into Yamada, who comes to secretly hurt himself on his beloved candies and sweets. Through their interactions, Ichikawa learns how foolish Yamada is, and he can’t help but support her from the sidelines. Meanwhile, Yamada herself can’t help laughing at Ichikawa endlessly because of his giddy reactions. Through a series of heartfelt daily interactions, distance becomes more than just library acquaintances. Perhaps, in time, Ichikawa will realize that her murderous desires have turned into something else entirely.
