As of July 2021, long before the anime adaptation of it Chain Saw Manvisual made by malaysian artist, freedom sky, which caught the attention of thousands of people on social media. He is known as the official artist for various characters from Lane Azur (Houshou, Vincennes, Quincy and Astoria), and from the “one finger selfie challenge“.
However, it was the scene that went very viral with Makima from Chain Saw Man and Kobayashi’s Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid). After all, the two characters are very similar, both of them are women who usually wear formal clothes, and not to mention that the hair color is almost the same.
Well, it seems that this view went all over the world, except Japan! Since the question of the similarity between the two characters was not discovered by the Japanese until recently. In a post on a popular feedback forum, a user shared an update “名無し「自由」 (@LdiaQjm43d1ZL9P)” where he compared the two characters.
«I finally understood why I got that feeling of deja vu every time I saw the Makima design.», the user wrote, noting that Makima’s design reminded him of another character, which was clearly Kobayashi.
Of course, the image he shared completely pales in comparison to the artist’s image, but the Japanese finally managed to realize that everyone knew the similarities:

- «The story of how they met their “servant” is even similar.».

Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon Summary
As Kobayashi leaves for another day at work, she opens the door to her apartment to find an unusually terrifying sight: a dragon’s head looking down at her from the balcony. The dragon immediately transforms into a beautiful, busty and energetic young woman, dressed in a maid outfit, who introduces herself as Tohru. As it turned out, the stoic programmer had stumbled across the dragon the night before on a wild hike through the mountains, and since the mythical beast had nowhere else to go, she offered the creature a place to stay in her home . So, Tohru took advantage of the offer, willing to repay her Savior’s kindness by working as her personal servant. Although he deeply regrets his words and is reluctant to keep his promise, a combination of guilt and Tohru’s incredible dragon ability convinces Kobayashi to take the girl in.
