The House of the Dragon trailer comes on HBO, before the collective shrug of the Internet

Game of Thrones is back. The big question is whether or not anyone cares. HBO has released the first trailer for the upcoming introduction to The House of the Dragon series, which is a full – fledged Game of Thrones, with plenty of political drama, dragons, and incestuous Targaryens.

The first look at the series did not inspire much enthusiasm, but this House of the Dragon trailer does a much better job of showing the series and HBO is putting a ton of money into it to make it look as good as the series. . original. original. The series takes place 200 years before Game of Thrones, when the Targaryens were still ruled by power and dragons. All is not well, however, as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, played by Emma D’Arcy, is about to take the throne from King Viserys Targaryen, played by Paddy Considine, but no one seems to want to. Demon prince Matt Smith Targaryen seems to have his own plans up his back, and there is certainly plenty of white hair everywhere.

Also in the series will be Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower. The series was created by George RR Martin and Ryan Condal of Colony. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik act as producers, while Sapochnik directs the pilot and several episodes.

All in all, it’s a great cast with a big budget and proven creators behind it, but it’s also a huge question mark. If HBO expects another cultural phenomenon similar to the original, it is likely to be a big disappointment, as GoT’s final season left a terrible taste in the mouths of the audience. And honestly, cultural moments rarely come like that. The real question is to know how much the fall of Dragon House will suffer. If the current anger over the Internet series is a reflection of real life, HBO may be in for a shock.

House of the Dragon will be shown on HBO Max on August 21st.
