The previously announced anime adaptation of Tan elusive samurai revealed additional cast information and a character preview and trailer for Tokiyuki Hojo, voiced by Asaka Yuikawa. Studio CloverWors is animating the series, which will premiere in 2024.
The supporting cast for The elusive samurai includes:
- Yuichi Nakamura as Yorishige Suwa
- Hinaki Yano as Shizuku
- Mari Hino as Kojiro
- Sayumi Suzushiro as Ayako
- Aoi Yuki as Genba Kazama
- Kikunosuke Toya as Fubuki
The adaptation was announced in March this year, during the event Anime Japan 2023. staff for The elusive samurai the anime includes:
- Director: Yuta Yamazaki (Wonder Egg prioritydeputy director)
- Series cast: Yoriko Tomita (My dressing, baby)
- Screenplay: Yoriko Tomita
- Character Design: Yasushi Nishiya (Ni no Kuni)
Yusei Matsui, who is best known forThe Murder Classroommanga, started The Elusive Samurai at Shueisha’sWeekly Shounen Jumpin 2021. The manga currently has ten volumes released. Viz Media published it in English and described the plot as:
After his family is massacred by the traitor Ashikaga Takauji, Tokiyuki escapes with the help of a handful of loyal servants who also survived the purge. One of them is Suwa Yorishige, an ally of the Hojo clan and lord of Suwa Province. The slightly oddball Yorishige also claims to be a clairvoyant and predicts that Tokiyuki will one day become the ruler of Japan. But for now, escaping from enemy territory is the priority!
