The Beach Boys have announced their 60th anniversary.
Capitol Records and UMe will release a remastered and expanded new edition of Beach Boys’ biggest hit collection, ‘Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best Of The Beach Boys’, on June 17th.
The new release will include a further 50 songs from the band “from the early hits to the deepest cuts of the fans ‘choice, from their first 1962 album’ Surfin ‘Safari’ to ‘Still Cruisin’ from 1989.” , according to a press release.
He continues: “The collection contains 24 new blends, including two first – time stereo mixes, as well as 22 new and improved stereo mixes, some of which have the latest in digital stereo extraction technology, which which allows the team to separate the original coin background tracks for the first time. “
The new collection will be available digitally, via a 3-CD soft pack, and as a Super Deluxe Edition 6LP vinyl box set on 180 gram black vinyl.
Each format will include a booklet with new cover notes and updated photos, which can be booked here.
Capitol / UMe will then release the next chapter from The Beach Boys archives, ‘Carl and the Passions – So Tough’ from 1972 and ‘Holland’ from 1973.
The Beach Boys are also taking part in a brand new documentary in the works.
Other events include “special tribute, prestigious exhibitions and events, unique brand partnerships,” according to a press release.

Meanwhile, the Beach Boys recently confirmed their second UK show this summer, and the group will head to Dreamland in Margate on June 23, 2022.
This news adds to the fact that the legendary band will be playing at the Royal Albert Hall in London on June 24th. Both shows will be part of their “Sixty Years of the Sounds of Summer” tour.
