The upcomingThe Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rottenanime released a preview and trailer for Happy New Year on Sunday. Studio project No.9 is animating the adaptation, and the premiere date is set for January 7, 2023. The new preview is titled “On New Years with Mahiru” and features the character dressed in a kimono, with her line to the main character: “Amane-kun, Happy New Year.”

Studio project #9 (Higehiro: After being rejected, I shaved and took in a high school runaway) is animatedThe Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rottenanime based on Saekisan’s light novel series, originally launched on web novel service Shosetsuka ni Naro and currently published with art by Hanekoto under SB Creative’s GA Bunko light novel label. The light novel released the final, 7th volume in September 2022.
Yen Press licensed the series for release in English and described the plot offirst volumeas:
Mahiru is a beautiful girl whose classmates call her “angel”. Not only is she a star athlete with perfect grades—she’s also stunningly beautiful. Amane, an average person and a self-confessed slob, never thought much of divine beauty despite attending the same school. However, everything changes when he happens to see Mahiru sitting alone in a park during a rainstorm. Thus begins the strange relationship between this incredibly unlikely couple!
