SZA announces deluxe edition of ‘SOS’, titled ‘Lana’
SZA has announced a long-awaited deluxe edition of her 2022 album ‘SOS’, titled ‘Lana’.
The original album was released in December 2022 and broke a seven-year record on the US charts by celebrating its ninth week at Number One.
Almost immediately after the release of the original album, SZA began releasing more material, and Billboard reported in February that a deluxe edition of “SOS” featuring 10 previously unreleased songs was in the works.
Now, SZA has officially confirmed the release in a live concert. In his speech, he called ‘Lana’ “a completely different album” which will contain “7-10 songs” and “will be released this fall.”

SZA recently hinted at a future collaboration with Miley Cyrus, after she “surprised” fans and hinted at a deluxe edition of the new album.
One of the songs that may appear on the deluxe edition was revealed in a new behind-the-scenes clip from her music video for “Snooze.”
In a five-star review of SZA’s second album, ‘SOS’, NME described the record as “a comeback album well worth the wait”, adding: “The American star’s first album in five years – and the last of her life, according to her – she is expansive, excellent and rarely makes mistakes”.
“I’m making the best record of my life for this next album,” SZA told Flaunt in 2020, adding “it’s going to be my last record.”
Last year she also told Billboard that she isn’t sure what her music career will look like long-term. “I feel like music, in this capacity, I don’t see the longevity,” he said. “I like to create, write, sing and share. But I don’t know if it’s sustainable for me or anyone to continue with stardom or whatever I have to do now . I’m going to do my best.”
