During a special event held this Sunday in Japan, the production of a second season and a new OVA for the studio’s original anime was announced. Bones, SK8 The Infinity. - Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass – Hangyaku no Lelouch, Planets) who will once again be in charge of composing the series as well as writing the scripts.
- Michinori Chiba (Gundam 00 Mobile Suit) will also return as a character designer.
The first season of this original animation project aired in January 2021 and consisted of twelve episodes in total. Currently, it can be found in the catalog of Crunchyroll. It also has a manga adaptation by hand Cossackspublished from March 2021 in Japan.
Summary of SK8 The Infinity
High school student Reki Kyan is passionate about one thing: skateboarding. When night falls, he goes to “S”, an illegal underground race inside a mine where skaters compete in very dangerous situations. After a loss that destroys her skateboard and breaks her arm, Reki is unable to practice anything. While working, Reki meets her new classmate, Langa Hasegawa, a half-Canadian, half-Japanese boy with no skateboarding experience whatsoever. Langa is in dire need of money. After the two visit “S” on behalf of Reki’s boss, they run into trouble and are forced to make a bet that requires Langa to skate in a race. However, the mysterious transfer student has a trump card Reki doesn’t know about, one that could help him win the race in the most unexpected way.
