The official site for the Anime adaptation of the Manga written and illustrated by Kazutake Hazano, Shiro Seijo to Kuro Bokushi (St. Cecilia and priest Lawrence), revealed a new promotional video for the project. The video confirms that again the premiere is scheduled for April 2023 in Japan.
The press release revealed new members of the voice channel, including:
- Kanna Nakamura like Hazelita Aldridge.
- Haruki Ishiya like Abel.
- Haruka Tomatsu like Mel.
- mai nakahara like Rebecca.
- Makoto Koichi like Erik.
Kazutake started publishing the manga in the magazine Iris Shounen R from the publisher kodansha in April 2017. The series is also published on the service Pocket Journal and the publisher kodansha published the tenth book compilation volume on June 16 in Japan.

Summary of Shiro Seijo to Kuro Bokushi
On the outskirts of a sleepy town, Lawrence works as a local priest for the townspeople. In case of need, he is in charge of leading people to the church to visit the “Saint”, a symbol of good morals who attends to the struggle of each parish and gives him heartfelt advice. Cecelia, a kind young woman, is in charge of doing this function; however, this job quickly wears her down. As a result, he often hangs around the church, along with his hidden sleepy nature. This leaves Lawrence to take care of the church alone. While Cecelia sleeps in anticipation of her next visit, Lawrence attends to her needs and fulfills the many responsibilities of the church.
Little by little, they begin to establish a comfortable and trusting friendship with each other. Lawrence encourages her to accept Cecelia’s lazy nature, and Cecelia becomes accustomed to Lawrence’s overly caring nature. However, as the no-nonsense saint’s feelings for the close-knit, overprotective shepherd go beyond friendship, how will he respond?
