Romy joined Fred again .. at their show in Amsterdam this weekend (November 25th) – watch them perform their new collaboration ‘Strong’ live below.
The pair’s new trance-influenced track dropped earlier this month and is the xx singer’s second track with Fred again … after teaming up with HAAi for January single ‘Lights’. Out’.
At the Amsterdam show, Romy took the stage with Fred for a huge and emotional performance of “Strong.” Explaining the meaning of the song upon its release, he said, “It’s a very personal song.
“My cousin Luis appears in the music video with me. It was on my mind when I was writing this song, we both shared the experience of our mothers dying when we were young. I think that we both tried to keep our emotions under control and put on a brave face. before things; writing this helped me connect with these feelings of pain and with him”.
About the collaboration in Amsterdam, Romy said on Instagram: “Fred! The first time singing out loud live with you was great!!!
“Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your amazing show. I love you Fred, I love you Amsterdam.”

Fred released again… his new album ‘Actual Life 3 (1 January – 9 September 2022)’ last month, the third LP in his ongoing diaristic album series.
Reviewing ‘Real Life 3’, NME wrote: “Combined with spontaneous phone recordings made during his travels, sound bites of Instagram clips and samples of some of his favorite records, Gibson has mosaic clearly stitched diaries together over the past few years. .a year that provided the foundation to build his meditative but club-ready son’s life.
After concerts in Dublin and the aforementioned Amsterdam show, Fred will once again.. continue his European tour in Berlin tonight (September 27) before finishing with three concerts in London, at the sold-out Brixton Academy, from 7 until 9 December.
