Scottish DJ and producer Jamie Roy has died

Scottish DJ and producer Jamie Roy has died, his family revealed in a statement.

In a Facebook post today (September 21), Roy’s family revealed that their son, who was a regular at Ibiza clubs, had died on Tuesday.

“Jamie passed away yesterday,” the post began, “Jamie was a much loved son, brother, nephew and uncle to his friends and colleagues both inside and outside the music industry. We are all heartbroken.”

Roy started out DJing in clubs in Glasgow before finding a home in Ibiza and DJing across Europe and beyond.

Last year, he released his song “Organ Belta” through Patrick Topping’s Trick label. A few days before her death, she celebrated the song’s one year anniversary on Instagram, writing, “Well Organ Belta turns one next week! I just had a look and it’s at number 37 and still on the charts.” Hit house 51 a week later a mental jump of 24 places from yesterday.

“I’m also the 46th best selling house artist, thank you all so much,” he added, going on to say that “Bela organ 2 is on the way…”

During his time in Ibiza, Roy did a residency as part of Ibiza Rocks and performed at Amnesia, DC-10 and other venues.

Last year he signed with Ultra Records and released the single “Fantasy” alongside Huxley and DJ Rae.
