Anime adaptation ofScott Pilgrimby Science SARU has revealed the first trailer and it will premiere on Netflix on November 17th. The anime brings back the cast from the 2010 film.Scott Pilgrim vs. the World to voice their characters. Check out the first trailer for the adaptation:
Key people involved in the production of the anime adaptation include Eunyoung Choi as producer and Abel Góngora as director. Edgar Wright, Neera Park, Marc Platt, Jared LeBeouf, Adam Seigel and Michael Bacall will also receive executive producer credits on the series. The official X account (Twitter) too annoys “all new music by Anamanaguchi.”
Scott Pilgrimfocuses on the story of part-time musician Scott Pilgrim, who lives in Toronto, Ontario and plays bass in a band. One day he falls in love with American delivery girl Ramona Flowers, but must defeat Flowers’ seven evil exes in order to properly date her.
The franchise began as six black-and-white volumes originally published by comic book publisher Oni Press. Brian Lee O’Malley’s graphic novels were later republished by HarperCollins’ Fourth Estate and received full-color editions through Nathan Fairbairn, published in August 2012 to April 2014.
In addition to the 2010 film, the franchise has spawned several spin-offs, including the gameScott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Gamedeveloped by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Chengdu in 2010. Although not listed in 2014, the game received a re-release titled“Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition”on January 14, 2021
