The upcoming animated adaptation of St. Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence unveiled a key visual and trailer on Thursday. The series also revealed additional cast members: Haruki Ishiya as Abel, Kanna Nakamura as Hyselita Aldridge, Haruka Tomatsu as Mel, Mai Nakahara as Rebecca, and Makoto Koichi as Eric. Cecilia, Lawrence, Abel and Haselita can be seen in the latest key preview. The anime is scheduled to air in April 2023.
Doga Kobo Studio animated the series with director Sumi Noro. Yuka Yamada supervised the series composition, Nakagawa Hiromi illustrated the character designs, and Ruka Kawada composed the music. St. Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence previously announced a preview during Aniplex Online Fest 2022 and alongside the main cast, Kaito Ishikawa as Lawrence and Sawada Hime as Cecilia.
The anime is based on the manga series by Kazutake Hazano, which has been serialized in Kodansha’s online Shonen Magazine R since 2017. It currently has 11 volumes in circulation. Kodansha licensed the series in English and described the first volume as:
Saint Cecilia is beloved by the townspeople – not only is she elegant and poised, but she also benevolently shares her wisdom with all who seek her. That is until the last person leaves – at which point she becomes completely hopeless! Only Pastor Lawrence keeps the Saint together enough to carry out her duties… and though she may test it, it’s all in a day’s work!
