Rurouni Kenshin reveals new cast and key visual for the second part of the Tokyo Arc

Rurouni Kenshin (2023) has released a new key visual and trailer for the upcoming second installment of the Tokyo Arc. The visual of the new characters that will be introduced in episode 8 and you can check it out below:

The new cast for the series includes:

  • Ryotaro Okiyayu as Hannia
  • Hiroyuki Yoshino as Beshimi
  • Fukushi Ochiai as Hyotoko
  • Toru Inada as Shikijo

The second part of the arc will revolve around the case of Megumi Takani (CV Saori Oonishi), one of the upcoming main characters in the series. Aoshi (CV Yuma Uchida), also featured in the key visual and trailer, will also play a big role.

Rurouni Kenshin (2023) premiered on July 6, 2023 and currently has 7 episodes released as of August 17. Hideyo Yamamoto directed the anime at the Liden Films studio. You can watch the entire series on Crunchyroll.

Rurouni Kenshinwas originally a Japanese manga series by Nobuhiro Watsuki. Shueisha published the entire series in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1994 to 1999 and has a total of 28 volumes in circulation. The series had its first anime adaptation from 199 to 1998, along with several OVAs and a total of 5 live action films from 2012 to 2021.

Viz Media serialized the originalRurouni Kenshinmanga series in English and describes the plot as:
A hundred and forty years ago in Kyoto, with the coming of the American “Black Ships,” a warrior appeared who, cutting down men with his bloody blade, received the name of Hitokiri, the killer! His murderous blade helped close the tumultuous Bakumatsu era and cut through the progressive era known as the Meiji. Then it disappeared and over the years it became a legend.
