Röyksopp has announced that 10 new short films will accompany the upcoming release of his new album ‘Profound Mysteries’.
It was previously described as a “very big conceptual project” – the Norwegian pair had already “survived the traditional album format” after releasing their fifth LP ‘The Inevitable End’ in 2014 – ‘Profound Mysteries’ will be released in digital format, CD. and cassette on April 29 (vinyl release not yet announced).
Prior to its full release, Röyksopp has unveiled details of his creative partnership with film production company Bacon, who have created a series of short films to accompany ‘Profound Mysteries’.
Directed by directors including Andreas Nilsson, Martin de Thurah and Röyksopp himself, the films have been described as “adding 10 original vignettes to the rich tapestry of the world of ‘Profound Mysteries'”.
“We are thrilled to have the wonderful Bacon boys and girls with them in this Universe of‘ Profound Mysteries ’,” Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland of Röyksopp said in a statement.
