Sawayama has already nailed the next “Hold The Girl” with the singles “This Hell” and “Catch Me In The Air”. In a recent interview, he revealed that this latest track was inspired by Gwen Stefani.
“[La coguionista] Gracey was like, ‘Oh my God, Gwen Stefani is going to put out a new song. And I said, ‘Why don’t we pretend we’re writing for Gwen? Like, ‘Let’s take our brains out of our heads and pretend,'” Sawayama told Apple Music 1.
Rina Sawayama performed last weekend at Latitude Festival, where she also made a surprise appearance during Phoebe Bridgers’ set alongside Maggie Rogers.
In October, he will embark on a tour of the UK and Ireland; you can find the remaining tickets for those dates here.
