This review of Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru contains spoilers. If you haven’t seen the chapter, we encourage you to do so and then come back to read the review.
Rin is settling into her new club, doing it so quickly that she bumps into Ayumu and stops telling her about it Senpai. But when Urushi beat her, the rookie started to respect her and call her president, so much she respects her that she even offers to run errands for her. In a match between the first two members, Rin finds out that Urushi was trying to call Ayumu ‘handsome’, confronts her and finds out that Tanaka is the one in love with the president. He talks to Takeru and understands the situation, with that in mind he decides to support him Senpai with the girl he loves, only the president is a difficult rival. In the end, the latter hold a meeting to celebrate Rin’s arrival, which creates a real club atmosphere.
For me this chapter is better than the previous one, not so much because of the feeling of loss that could be there, but because of the new situations that were shown. I knew Rin was going to mess things up, but I didn’t imagine she’d be allied with Ayumu, I thought she’d compete with Braids-chan. At times like this I’m glad I’m wrong. I find Rin interesting and I like it, she’s not very narrow and her character doesn’t progress (just before I was watching Kanojo Okarishimasu and I don’t really like Ruka, making a fair comparison, Rin is much better). And the visuals at the end definitely looked beautiful to me, it is indeed an anime. I think the most important thing about the chapter is that I didn’t feel like there was a memorable soundtrack for such a moment, because it was beautiful.
Official club and new member
I thought there must be five members, I must have been confused (because Maki isn’t, or at least that’s what Urushi implies). The point is that the club has already been formed and Rin is an active member, too. Its inclusion already makes the “club” feel more like a real club, so it’s really nice to enjoy moments like that. But still I wonder if they will participate in a tournament or competition, I think with that they could stretch the anime a bit more, although I think it would leave the type of anime it is. The fact that Rin interacted with Takeru really speeds things up, because if they were strangers, their actions would be incomprehensible, as far as Ayumu asserts himself.
Although Maki is the real new member, who for me is the one who really carried the relationship and from the shadows what happened at the end of the chapter.
the welcome picnic
Urushi’s responsibility is noticeable, she is taking being president seriously, it was something she also wanted so she wants to do her best. The only thing that fails her is that when she gets nervous she doesn’t think things through and, as it happened, she ended up drowning Ayumu. This is when I have to say that if Maki comes out more, the anime would have ended after four chapters because he would have agreed with them. She prepares the picnic, leaves them alone, is too obtrusive and Braids-chan doesn’t understand that and calls her randomly. That makes me laugh, although I’m sure some people will reject it and say “kiss once and for all!” It happens to me too, but they are enjoying it. I think with Rin, who got a good reception, the anime will get interesting.
Able Rin’s potential rivalry comes out with the chapters, maybe not. Although I really want to see more of Maki. Anyway, nice chapter and beautiful ending.
