PURPLE KISS To Return With Fifth Mini-album ‘Cabin Fever’ This Month
K-pop girl group PURPLE KISS has announced the release of their fifth EP “Cabin Fever,” later this month.
PURPLE KISS’ comeback was announced by uploading a video to the group’s YouTube channel earlier today (February 1) at midnight KST, titled “Cabin Fever.”
The short 22-second clip features a new PURPLE KISS logo to coincide with the band’s new release alongside images of a perpetually empty hotel lobby and lobby. The video below reveals the name of the album, as well as its release date of February 15th at 6:00 pm KST. Other details, such as the album’s track listing, had not yet been revealed at the time of publication.
“Cabin Fever” comes around seven months after PURPLE KISS’ last release, the July 2022 mini-album “Geekyland”, headlined by the track “Nerdy”. Dead’, although ‘Summer Rain’ was co-written and co-composed by former labelmate Ravn, who was formerly a member of the boy band ONEUS.
The upcoming release of “Cabin Fever” will also mark the girl group’s first music as six members, following Park Ji-eun’s departure from the group in November 2022. At the time, RBW Entertainment revealed that Park had experienced of “constant health and health issues. anxiety symptoms” while in the group, and that a professional advised him to get enough rest.
The company also said that Park made the decision to leave the group after a long discussion about “the group’s activities, future plans and other matters” during a period of rest. “We ask that you continue to support Park Ji-eun as she continues on a new path, and we ask that you wholeheartedly support the six members who will show the most growth,” RBW’s statement concluded.
