Kirito and Asuna are two very different people, but they both want to fight alone. Regardless, they find themselves drawn together to face challenges both within and without. Considering that the entire virtual world they now live in is set up as a death trap, the surviving Sword Art Online players begin to despair, and their desperation makes them dangerous for loners like Kirito and Asuna.
