Pooh Shiesty was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to one charge of conspiracy with firearms.

The rapper – whose real name is Lontrell Donell Williams Jr. – was charged. for their participation in a shooting occurred in October 2020 at a hotel Bay Area Islands, Florida. He is said to have shot a 28-year-old man in the buttocks.

After Williams pleaded guilty to one firearms conspiracy charge earlier this year, federal prosecutors dropped three additional charges that could result in a life sentence. The most serious of these charges alleged that Shiesty fired a gun during the confrontation at the Landon Hotel in the Bay Harbor Islands on October 9, 2020.

According to Stereogum, the rapper reached an agreement with the prosecution. He pleaded guilty to possession of one federal count of firearms conspiracy to promote violent crime and drug trafficking, in exchange for the release of the other three counts.

Williams has now been sentenced to 63 months – equivalent to five years and three months – instead of the 97 months ahead of him taking into account the three additional charges.

“Listen, no one is willing to go to jail, but he was glad the judge heard our argument, and the judge welcomed the argument. He was happy with the outcome,” Shiesty defense attorney Bradford Cohen said , with the Associated Press. Cloch. “We are happy with the court’s decision.”

According to prosecutors, Williams would have hired McLaren to drive to the Landon Hotel on the October 2020 shooting day to “buy a pair of high – end sneakers and marijuana.”

A surveillance video showed Williams arriving at the hotel with another man described as his head of the road and the third man following in a black Mercedes Maybach.

After taking a bag of marijuana and examining a pair of sneakers, Williams allegedly pulled out a subcompact Draco handgun and completed a shot, hitting the alleged victim in the buttocks, investigators had previously said.

While Williams was driving away, a Louis Vuitton bag filled with $ 40,912 in cash fell out of the McLaren driver’s seat, according to authorities. Investigators said they tied the cash to the rapper by matching the full serial number of one of the recovered bills with a $ 100 bill displayed on his Instagram account days before the alleged theft.

In June 2021, Pooh Shiesty was arrested in connection with a Memorial Day weekend shooting at a strip club in Miami. The outcome of that case is not yet known.
