However, it seems that the expectations were always meant to stay low, because it seems that the Pokemon anime just ended. troll for the whole community for the last time.
It was Twitter user, “@Akilvers“, who reported the story, writing: «Ash Ketchum was supposed to meet his father in today’s special, “Pocket Monsters: Haruka Naru Aoi Sora,” but when he arrives at the Pokémon Center five minutes late, he’s already gone. However, his father left him a gift: the cap from the Original League».
Although it is clear that it was a way to tease his fans who were hoping to finally meet Ash Ketchum’s father, the episode left a gift that will surely inspire the greatest veteran: Ash’s cap from the first season of the anime. There are still a few episodes left featuring Ash and Pikachu, which means that “Mr. Ketchum” will appear at some pointbut it is more likely still a mystery.

Pokémon Mastery Summary
On a new day in the Kanto region, Professor Yukinari Ookido invites Satoshi to the opening ceremony of Professor Sakuragi’s laboratory in Vermillion City. During the ceremony, Professor Sakuragi receives a warning about a rare Pokémon that may appear in Vermillion City’s harbor, prompting Satoshi and the other Trainers to go to the area in hopes of finding the mysterious Pokémon. At the port, they find Lugia – a Legendary Pokémon – locked in battle with other trainers.
Noticing the tactics of the other trainers, Satoshi has his partner Pikachu hit Lugia with a Lightning attack. Undeterred, Lugia runs away, but not before Satoshi decisively jumps on his back. To Satoshi’s surprise, he runs into another boy, Gou, who also jumps on Lugia’s back. The two climb onto the back of Lugia, who takes them on a strange adventure across the seas. As he lands on them, Satoshi and Gou say goodbye to Lugia and return to the Sakuragi Institute.
Impressed by Gou’s discoveries and Satoshi’s insight during their encounter, Sakuragi asks the two to become his new research partner. And so begins the duo’s journey, traveling across different regions to meet many new Pokémon, including those with the Gigantamax ability!
