Pluto Anime reveals additional cast ahead of October 26 premiere

The upcoming Pluto anime has revealed additional cast members ahead of its October 26 premiere date exclusively on Netflix. Studio M2 animated the series and GENCO produced it.

Additional cast members include Toshio Furukawa as Dr. Ochanomizu, Eizo Tsuda as Dr. Tenma, Romi Park as Geshit’s wife Helena, Michio Hazama as Duncan, Hideyuki Tanaka as Brau-1589, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Professor Abula, and Kenyu Horiuchi as President Alexander. Previously announced cast members include:

  • Written by: Shinshu Fuji
  • Atom: Yoko Hikasa
  • Uranus: Minori Suzuki
  • Mont Blanc: Hiroki Yasumoto
  • North #2: Koichi Yamadera
  • Brando: Hidenobu Kiuchi
  • Hercules: Rikiya Koyama
  • Epsilon: Mamoru Miyano
  • Pluto: Toshihiko Seki

The Plutoanime was first announced in 2017 at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France. It has been in production for 7 years, with Studio M2 founder Masao Maruyama confirming in 2022 that the anime is still in the works.

ThePlutothe manga is based on Osamu TezukaAstro Boymanga, specifically “The Greatest Robot on Earth” rainbow.Plutowas serialized in Shogakukan’sA great original comicmagazine from September 2003 to April 2009.Viz Mediahas licensed the manga in English, describing the first volume as:
In an ideal world where humans and robots coexist, someone or something has destroyed the powerful Swiss robot Mont Blanc. Elsewhere, a key figure in a robot rights group is killed. The two incidents appear to be unrelated… except for one very obvious clue – the bodies of both victims are fashioned into some sort of strange collage, complete with makeshift horns placed next to the victims’ heads. Interpol assigns robot detective Gesicht to this strangest and most complex case – and he eventually discovers that he too, as one of the world’s seven great robots, is one of the targets.
