One Piece Film Red earns over ¥5 billion in 8 days

After an incredible opening weekend in Japan, it was announced that ONE PIECE FILM RED grossed over ¥5 billion (~$37.5 million USD) in the 8 days since its August 6 premiere. The film mobilized over 3.6 million people and continues to move towards becoming the highest grosser soon ONE PIECE movie in history. The film will be released internationally this fall and you can watch the latest trailer:

The film focuses on Uta, with the Red Hair Pirates also having a large role. Kaori Nazuka voices Uta and Ado provides the singing voice. Five of the songs have already been released with animated music videos and they are the main theme song “New Genesis”, a collaboration with Mrs. Green Apple“I am invincible.”in collaboration with Vaundy “Backlight”collaboration with FAKE TYPE.“Fleeting Lullaby” and cooperation with Yuta Orisaka”The world turns”. Uta – the most loved singer in the world. Known for concealing her own identity when performing, her voice has been described as “otherworldly”. Earning over ¥5 billion in 8 days is already huge and we’ll see how long ONE PIECE FILM RED the ad will continue as it launches in more countries around the world!
