K-pop girl group OH MY GIRL is back with their ninth mini-album “Golden Hourglass” and a music video for their title track “Summer Comes.”
On July 24th at 6pm KST, WM Entertainment girl group OH MY GIRL unveiled the music video for their new single ‘Summer Comes’ from their ninth mini album ‘Golden Hourglass’, which was released at the same time.
The whimsical new video opens with the group of girls entering an ice cream parlor in a strange new world where they are surrounded by colorful ghosts. The members escape, but find themselves surrounded by zombies.
The girls take refuge in a car and, suddenly, are sent to a stage full of water slides in the middle of the ocean, where they dance to the rhythm of the new song.
“Over the waves, to my two ears / The voice of summer’s secret whisper / Come to me, come to me, put all in me / My heart is bleeding, I want to listen to strained ears,” they sing in the joyous refrain.
The new album includes a total of six tracks, all co-written by rapper Mimi. These include ‘Celebration’, ‘My Type’, ‘Dirty Laundry’ and ‘Paradise’.
Golden Hourglass follows the release of OH MY GIRL’s April single ‘Miracle’, which is also included on the new record. That song, which marked the eighth anniversary of their debut, was also their first release as a six-member group after original member Jiho’s departure in May 2022.
The singer addressed her departure from the girl group in a handwritten letter, in which she wrote, “In the future, I will support OH MY GIRL’s promotions as a member of Miracle (the group’s fan base) and not as a member of OH MY GIRL.”
The new mini-album is also the group’s first official comeback since the release of their second studio album “Real Love” in March 2022. In addition, YooA returned as a solo artist last November with their second mini-album “Selfish.”
In May, YooA also starred in the music video for Korean-American rapper and “Candy” singer Jay Park, in which she appeared as his love interest.
