The city of Terene in the Holy Kingdom of Dines is a mix of races and professions: get-rich-quick adventurers, resourceful merchants, singing and dancing bards, nobles, saints, beasts, and more. The city itself is so labyrinthine that it is called the city of the labyrinth. Nick, a broken warrior of light who was kicked out of the martial arts adventure group and cheated on by his lover, is a resident of this town. Tired of everything, he visits a bar only to find bad food, adventurers who live like this, and uninteresting roommates. As he drowns his sorrows in a lukewarm beer, all of his irritation and discontent erupts into one declaration: “People cannot be trusted!” He thought he was expressing only his own disappointment, but in reality the statement came from four voices… Thus begins the adventure of four people, each bearing their own scars!
The anime is based on Apparently, the frustrated adventurers are going to save the world(Ningen Fushin no Boukensha-tachi ga Sekai wo Sukuu You desu) light novel written by Shinta Fuji and illustrated by Susumu Kuroi. The series began serialization in 2019 at MF Books and also has a manga adaptation by Masaki Kawakami. Yen Press licensed it in English. Currently, the light novel and anime have slightly different licensed titles.
