New episodes of Naruto are coming on September 3rd as part of a special anime project

Four new episodes of Naruto will air on September 3, 2023, as part of a new anime project. The official announcement came on Sunday by the official Boruto: The Next Generations of Naruto website after the project was announced earlier this year. Studio Pierrot will handle the animation production. Three previews were released as part of the series’ 20th anniversary in October 2022:

Video in honor of the 20th anniversary of Naruto was uploaded to Studio Pierrot’s official YouTube page last October. The video below consists of re-animated scenes from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden featuring some of the most popular opening songs from the series. Watch the video below:

The manga seriesNarutowritten and illustrated by Kishimoto was serialized from 1999-2014Weekly Shonen Jumpmagazine. The series had a total of 72 volumes and currently has a total of 250 million copies in circulation, making it the 6th most successful manga of all time. VIZ Media acquired the English license in 2003 and has since published all volumes, including 3 separate box sets completing the series.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English and described the plot as:
Twelve years ago, the Village Hidden in the Leaves was attacked by a terrifying threat. A nine-tailed fox spirit claimed the lives of the village leader, the Hokage, and many others. Today, the village is at peace and a troubled child named Naruto is struggling to graduate from the Ninja Academy. His goal may be to become the next Hokage, but his true destiny will be much more complicated. The adventure begins in the snow!
