Naomi Ackie’s first look as Whitney Houston has just been released – check it out below.
A short clip from the upcoming biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody was shared at CinemaCon last night (April 25), featuring Ackie in character.
According to USAToday, the clip saw Ackie perform the theme song, and later performed the ‘Star-Spangled Banner’ during the 1991 Super Bowl.
Since then, the first official poster for the film has been shared with fans on social media.

Clive Davis spoke to the film in an interview with USAToday, in which the music mogul and film producer called the film a “truly realistic and honest story” of Houston’s life.
“We were very upset that Whitney’s persona was arrested,” Davis said of Ackie’s hearing for the part. “The (singing) voice will, of course, be Whitney.
“When it comes to Whitney, we did not think that anyone could capture his vocal genius, so he will be Whitney’s voice in the film.”
Stanley Tucci will also be Davis himself in the biopics, and Ashton Sanders from Moonlight as Houston’s husband Bobby Brown.
Last year, NME awarded Whitney Houston’s Holograms a three – star review in a review, writing, “And she sinks across the stage like waving a holographic quicksand (with the audience waving surreptitiously back) after an encore of ‘I’ m Every Woman ‘, the faithful.
