
My Teen Romantic ComedySNAFU Announces 10th Anniversary Anime Celebration
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, known as OreGairu, is celebrating the anime’s 10th anniversary later this year with 10 projects to be announced in the coming months. The anime premiered on April 5, 2013 and ran for three seasons until 2020. The series is based on Oregairu, Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru a light novel that is licensed as My teen romantic comedy is as wrong as I expected in English.
Studio Brain’s Base animated the first season of the adaptation, which was followed by an OVA episode. In the spring of 2015, a second season, titled My teenage romantic comedy SNAFU too!, premiere. The second season was animated by a studio. and featured different character designs but was a direct continuation of the plot. The same studio animated the OVA that premiered in 2016, and the final and third season, titled My Teenage Romantic Comedy SNAFU Climax. The final season premiered in 2020 and was announced as an OVA.
Wataru Watari wrote the original light novel, which was serialized from 2011 to 2021. The light novel was illustrated by Ponkan8. The series has two self-titled manga adaptations My Teen Romantic Comedy Is Wrong As I Expected – Monologue – and My teen romantic comedy is wrong as I expected @comicas well as the manga series 4-koma Yahari 4-koma demo Ore no Seishun Rabu Kome wa machigatteiru. A light novel series focusing on Yui Yuigahama is also ongoing.
Yen Press licensed the original light novel in English and described the plot of OreGairu as:
Hachiman Hikigaya is a cynic. “Youth” is clay, according to him – a game of shoots, an illusion woven from failure and hypocrisy. But when he turns in an essay for a school assignment advocating this view, he is sentenced to work at the Service Club, an organization dedicated to helping students with problems in their lives!
