
Music world pays tribute to Migos’ Takeoff: “We’ve lost a young legend”
The music world has paid tribute to rapper Migos Takeoff after his death, with Dave, Ja Rule and Rick Ross among those offering their condolences.
Georgian-born American musician, real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, was shot dead in a bowling alley early today (November 1). I was 28 years old.
Among those paying tribute to the late rapper was Dave, who shared a series of images of himself with Takeoff in the studio via his Instagram Stories.
“My brother… the days we spend together are precious,” he wrote.
Ja Rule also praised, tweeting, “Rip Takeoff … this shit has to STOP … sending love to friends and family,” while Lil Pump wrote, “God plz tell me this isn’t true.” .
Rick Ross also paid his respects, tweeting, “We have lost a young legend,” while representatives from Def Jam Recordings said, “Sending our deepest condolences to Takeoff’s family, friends and fans.”
Political figures such as Georgia Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams also paid tribute to the late rapper.
“This is heartbreaking news and a tragic loss for GA and the music industry. Born and raised in Gwinnett County, Kirshnik Khari Ball has had an immeasurable impact on Hip Hop and our culture,” he wrote.
“My condolences to the Takeoff family, his friends and all those who were inspired by his talent.”

Meanwhile, fans have also remembered Takeoff sharing some of his best verses.
Takeoff gave his last live performance on Saturday night (October 29) at Lil Wayne’s Lil WeezyAna Fest in New Orleans, Louisiana.
He performed at the event with Quavo, his Migos bandmate and uncle, under the moniker Unc & Phew.
The set was held to promote the duo’s newly released collaborative album ‘Only Built For Infinity Links’, and saw the likes of Migos’ ‘T-Shirt’ and ‘Straightenin’.
The duo released the album while Migos was on an indefinite hiatus. During their time together, the Migos released a plethora of records, including four studio albums and 12 mixtapes, and were known for songs like “Versace,” “Bad And Boujee,” and “Stir Fry. “
His latest release ‘Culture III’ came in June 2021. Takeoff released his debut solo album ‘The Last Rocket’ in November 2018.
