Coming up Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 anime has released a new visual teaser along with information that Yumi Uchiyama will continue to voice the role of Rudeus Greyrat. On the day, the anime held an event to showcase five of the best episodes chosen by fans in honor of the second season airing in 2023. Studio Bind is animating the sequel, which revealed the first trailer earlier this year.
The event was part of TOHO animation’s 10-year project TOHO animation THEATER FES. The main character’s voice actors, Yumi Uchiyama (Rudeus Greyrat) and Tomokazu Sugita (former self), appeared on stage to say hello after the screening. The five selected episodes are listed as follows:
- Episode 2 “master“
- Episode 16 “Family quarrel“
- Episode 17 “Unification“
- Episode 21 “Turning point 2“
- Episode 23 “Wake up and take a step“
Rifujin and Magonote’sMushoku Tensei: Jobless Rebirthwas originally serialized as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from November 2012 to April 2015. Kadokawa picked up the series and published it as a light novel with art by Shirotaka under the company’s MEDIA FACTORY and Frontier Works novel label MF Books since 2014 The light novel series released its first compiled volume in January 2014 and concluded with volume 26 on November 25, 2022. The light novel inspired an anime adaptation by StudioBind; the first season was split into two courses with a total of 23 episodes. The first part was broadcast from January to March 2021 and the second part from October to December of the same year. The fourth volume on Blu-ray compiles an unaired episode that is available on Crunchyroll.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the light novel in English and described The plot as:
Just when an unemployed thirty-four-year-old otaku hits a dead end in life and decides it’s time to turn over a new leaf – he gets run over by a truck and dies! Shockingly, he finds himself reborn in the body of a baby in a strange, new world of sword and sorcery. His new identity is Rudeus Grairath, but he still retains the memories of his previous life. Follow Rudeus from infancy to adulthood as he struggles to redeem himself in a wondrous yet dangerous world.
