Mr Blobby joins Self Esteem on stage at the Hammersmith concert
Self Esteem had a very special guest at their Hammersmith Apollo concert in London tonight (March 17). Below you can see how he welcomes Mr. Blobby to the stage.
In the show’s encore, during her track “The Best,” Rebecca Lucy Taylor welcomed the ’90s youth icon to the stage, who proceeded to strum a guitar and dance with Taylor and her band.
Speaking about the time she met Mr Blobby while appearing on The Big Breakfast, Taylor told NME last year: “It doesn’t get much better than that, does it? I met Mr. Blobby that day…I don’t need anything more. You know how they put the voice on it? The vocoder? Obviously they weren’t having it, so the man in the suit was trying not to make any noise. When I hugged him, he would say “blobby blobby” in a normal male voice. Poor man.”
When asked what the pink and yellow icon looked like, he replied: “Sexy, something interesting, shorter than you think!”
Watch Mr Blobby perform at Self Esteem in London below. Before the concert, he shared photos of himself outside the concert on Instagram, writing, “I already have my T-shirt and VIP ticket! Can’t wait for you to see your favorites! [Self Esteem]“.
Self Esteem are currently on a sold out UK tour, “I Tour This All The Time”, which kicked off in Nottingham and Dublin last month and debuted a couple of brand new songs.
In their review of the tour’s Oxford date, NME wrote: “At the end of Self Esteem’s last Oxford gig comes a moment of pure joy on the encore. of the speakers.
“On stage, Self Esteem (real name Rebecca Lucy Taylor) and her band break into song and dance, begging the audience to join them. It’s a fitting way to end an already infectious performance with many moments of catharsis and ecstasy.”
At an earlier concert in London, Self Esteem showed their support for Gary Lineker by wearing a T-shirt reading “Free Gary”, amid a row between the BBC and Lineker after the latter called out the government’s controversial plan prevent people from coming. to the UK illegally from applying for “immeasurably cruel” asylum.

The kit was originally listed for sale online for £39, but the price soon rose after attracting attention online.
The seller, a former BBC employee who wishes to remain anonymous, said he was not surprised when the winning bidder withdrew his offer.
