The upcoming anime adaptation of More than a married couple, but not lovers released a new key visual as well as the main cast. The anime will be animated by Studio Mother and will air in October this year.
The main cast includes Saori Oonishi as Akari Watanabe, Seiichiro Yamashita as Jiro Yaquin, Saki Miyashita as Shiori Sakurazaka, and Toshiki Masuda as Minami Tenjin.
Takao Koto is the main director and Junichi Yamamoto is directing the series. Naruhisa Arakawa is in charge of series composition, Chizuru Kobayashi is the character designer, Ichiro Chaen handles the editing, and Naoko Akuzawa is the art director. The theme songs were also announced with “True stupid love” by Liyuu as the opening theme and “Stuck in you” by Nowlu as the ending theme.
More than a married couple, but not lovers is based on the manga series of the same name by Yuki Kanamaru. It has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace magazine since March 2018. An anime series was first announced in November 2021.
The manga follows the story of Jiro Yakuin, who is in love with Shiori Sakurazaka, his childhood friend. However, things change when the school they attend has imposed a pair training program where each student will be randomly separated to allow them to practice social skills. Therefore, Jiro merges with a gyaru a girl named Akari Watanabe.
