Kep1er’s management agencies shared the latest information regarding member Young-eun’s health after she recently left a signature video event and was hospitalized.
On November 21, the K-pop girl group held a fan signing group video call hosted by entertainment platform StarRiver. It was reported that Young-eun dropped the call and was taken to the hospital due to health issues.
After the incident, WAKEONE and Swing Entertainment shared a statement through the Kep1er fan cafe. “Today, during the fan signing of the StarRiver video call, Young-eun Kep1er interrupted her call due to sudden ill health and was immediately sent to the hospital,” according to Soompi’s translation.
He continues, “Except for Young-eun, the eight members plan to proceed normally with the video call event. As we apologize once again to the fans who stayed and asked for the StarRiver fans’ autograph , we also ask for your understanding.” The two agencies also expressed that they will do “everything possible to recover their artist.”
At press time, no details had yet been released about the reason for Young-eun’s hospitalization.
Kep1er is expected to appear live at the 2022 MAMA Awards taking place in Osaka, Japan at the Kyocera Dome over two days on November 29 and 30. They will be performing alongside other 4th generation girl groups such as IVE, NMIXX, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans on a special collaboration stage on the first day.
This girl group was formed at the end of the MNET survival reality show Girls Planet 999 in 2021. They recently released new music with their third mini-album “Troubleshooter” in October.
