Megan Thee Stallion cancels headline performance at Global Citizens Festival 2023
Megan Thee Stallion has pulled out of this year’s World Citizen Festival.
Global Citizen Festival shared a statement on their official X/Twitter account reading: “Due to an unexpected scheduling conflict, Megan Thee Stallion will no longer be available to perform at Global Citizen Festival 2023.”
The announcement of the rapper’s departure came 11 days before the day of the festival. The 2023 World Citizen Festival will take place on the Great Lawn in New York’s Central Park on Saturday, September 23.
Lauryn Hill and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, as well as performances by Conan Gray and Stray Kids. It is not yet known whether Megan will be replaced or not.
In other news, Megan reunited with rapper Cardi B last night (September 12) on stage at the 2023 MTV VMAs, bringing their latest collaboration ‘Bongos’ to New Jersey.
The two rappers have just released the new single from their hit “WAP”, which has broken sales records, and performed it live at the awards gala. Cardi began the performance standing in a white arch surrounded by palm trees and dancers. Megan took her verse from another part of the arena before the two reunited on stage.
Last month, the ‘Savage’ rapper spoke of her hatred after Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting her.
During her performance at the Outside Lands festival in San Francisco, California, Megan criticized those who accused her of lying about the shooting.
“I want to say, fuck all my haters,” he told the crowd in Golden Gate Park. “None of that shit you do or say broke me. None of that shit you do or say to Hotties [sus fans] he broke them.”
“And I want all the hotties to raise their middle fucking fingers right now.”
