Maude Latour Shares Ethereal Song “Probabilities” Ahead of Lollapalooza
Maude Latour has released a new single, “Probabilities,” ahead of her Lollapalooza debut in Chicago next weekend. Listen to the euphoric track below.
The up-and-coming alt-pop star and recent Columbia award will perform at a number of US festivals this year, including Austin City Limits, All Things Go and Music Midtown, before embarking on a headlining tour in the fall this. Check out the full itinerary for their trip below.
“I’ve been dreaming of playing a festival my whole life,” Latour told NME a week before the festival. “I feel so ready to play Lolla and it’s been on my mind for a year now. I can’t believe it’s about to happen.”
The singer-songwriter has also revealed that she will be premiering ‘Probabilities’ live at Lollapalooza next weekend, adding: “I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be absurdly stiff live. I can not wait.”
In the song, the New York singer tries to find meaning in the chaos of life. “Are we where we’re meant to be, or is everything we know down to chance?” he says on the matter. “Thinking about the effect of chance in our lives can be nauseating.”
Despite its heavy subject matter, ‘Probabilities’ is sonically light, leaning into shimmering synths as Latour sings, “It’s the only chance we got, I wanna believe something.”
