The leak created a frenzy when it circulated on social media yesterday (September 3), with the album’s cover art – whose 13 songs are currently listed as ‘Track One’, ‘Track Two’, ‘Track Three ‘ and so on. – photoshopped to include real song names. They included three songs with lead artists: “In My Dreams” by The 1975, “Good In The Dark” by Lana Del Ray, and “Halle” by Stevie Nicks.

On his own social media, the 1975 frontman pushed back on the “leak”, wrote: “I would love! But unfortunately FAKE NEWS.”

Fans of Swift and The 1975 had a mixed reaction to the news, with most responses begging Healy to “do it” or declaring that he is lying.

At the time of writing, none of the songs on “Midnights” have been released publicly. Swift showed off physical copies in a recent video shared on her Instagram – announcing three special ultra-limited editions of the album – but the covers and tracklist were intentionally removed. It is not yet known when Swift plans to reveal the first single from the album, or if any songs will feature guests.

Swift debuted ‘Midnights’ in the wee hours of Monday (August 29) after making a surprise announcement at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards less than an hour earlier. Accepting the second of three awards for the night – Video of the Year for ‘All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor Version)’ – Swift revealed, “My new album is out October 21st. I’ll tell you more. ” things at midnight.

In a poetic message shared alongside the album’s formal reveal, Swift described ‘Midnights’ as “the stories of 13 sleepless nights spread across my life.”

On what to expect from his tracks, he wrote: “This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terror and sweet dreams. The floors we walk and the demons we face. “Man at all. who tossed and turned and decided to keep our flashlights on and give chase, hoping maybe when the clock strikes twelve … we’ll find ourselves.”

Midnights, which will be her 10th studio album, follows Swift’s two 2020 albums, “Folklore” and “Evermore,” as well as re-recorded versions of last year’s “Fearless” and “Red.”

For themselves, The 1975’s new album is just around the corner: they will release their fifth studio album, ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’, on October 14 via Dirty Hit. So far they have promoted the album with three singles: ‘Part Of The Band’, ‘Happiness’ and ‘I’m In Love With You’.
