The episode will revolve around Aki and Masamune teaching Muriel what she needs to know about Japanese rom-com manga. Romantic development is also expected in this episode because of their teamwork. You can watch the series on Crispy roll.
The anime is based on Hazuki Takeoka Masamune-kun’s Revenge manga series. Ichijinsha serialized it with Tiv’s illustrations from 2012 to 2018 in Monthly Comicc Rex, which had a total of 11 volumes in circulation. The same publisher published a sequel titled Masamune-kun’s Revenge After School from 2018 to 2019 and had a total of 1 volume available. The franchise currently has a manga sequel titled Masamune-kun’s Revengewhich started in 2023.
Seven Seas Entertainment published the original Masamune-kun’s Revenge manga series in English and describes the plot as:
As an overweight child, Makabe Masamune was mercilessly teased and bullied by one particular girl, Adagaki Aki. Determined to one day avenge her, Makabe begins a rigorous regimen of self-cultivation and personal transformation.
Years later, Masamune reappears as a new person. Handsome, popular, with perfect grades and good at sports, Masamune-kun transfers to Aki’s school and is unrecognizable to her. Now, Masamune-kun is ready to face the girl who bullied him so many years ago and finally humiliate her. But will revenge be as sweet as he thought?
The first season of Masamune-kun’s Revenge the anime aired in 2017 and had 12 episodes and an OVA. Mirai Minato directed the series at Silver Link Studio. Season 2 of the series premiered on July 3, 2023. The same director and studio are working on the second season.
