Marcus Mumford & Maren Morris Cover of Daisy Jones & The Six’s ‘Look at Us Now (Honeycomb)’
Marcus Mumford and Maren Morris have covered ‘Look at Us Now (Honeycomb)’, a song from the new TV show Daisy Jones & The Six.
The Amazon Prime Video show stars Riley Keough and Sam Claflin, but the song was written by Mumford and Grammy-winning producer Blake Mills.
Mumford and Morris have covered the song for Amazon Music: “Blake and I wrote ‘Look at Us Now (Honeycomb)’ together – with a little help – a year and a half ago for Daisy Jones & The Six.
“This time, we stripped the song down to acoustic guitar and vocals, that’s how it was written, and then built from there until we got to an arrangement we liked.
“I’ve been a longtime fan of Maren’s – her solo music and her work with The Highwomen – and these two wanted a voice like hers. We’re so grateful she agreed to do it.”
Adds Morris: “It’s not often that there are shows that describe the reality of what it takes to form a band or what it’s like to go on tour. One of the things about Daisy Jones is that they set this fictional universe. is based on the real composition. The music created by Blake Mills and the incredible performances of the actors bring a heartbreaking authenticity to this world. I am honored to be able to sing on ‘Look at Us Now’ with Marcus.”

The following is a summary of Daisy Jones & The Six: “Daisy Jones & The Six follows a 1970s rock band from their rise through the Los Angeles music scene to become one of the most famous bands in the world and explores the reason behind their break-up as they rise to great with them.”

Elsewhere, Marcus Mumford reunites with Mumford & Sons this summer as the latest headliner at Portsmouth’s Triumphant Festival.
The event will take place on Portsmouth’s Southsea waterfront between August 25 and 27. Jamiroquai and Kasabian will headline the bill on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively.
Mumford & Sons have not played in the UK since 2019, according to Setlist.fm. The group released their fourth and most recent studio album, ‘Delta’, the previous year. Banjist and guitarist Winston Marshall left the band in 2021 after receiving criticism for praising right-wing extremist Andy Ngo.
Mumford has since released his first solo album, ‘(Self-titled)’ from 2022, and toured the UK and North America with the project.
Last November, the singer-songwriter announced the fifth album for Mumford & Sons. “The next thing is to get into the room with the guys in the band and start playing the songs we’ve written,” he explained.
