Made in Abyss Season 2 reveals a second trailer, themed songs

Made in Abyss Season 2 presented a new trailer before its premiere in July. The second the season is titled The Golden City of the Burning Sun. and will be animated by Kinema Citrus.

The new trailer Made in Abyss also includes the opening theme for season 2, entitled “Katachi” (Form) and performed by Rico Azuna. Myth & Roid will make the final theme “Endless Embrace”.


The information was revealed during a special stream of Kadokawa Anime, which hosted the trio of lead voices – Mitu Tomita (Rico), Maria Ise (Reg) and Shiori Izawa (Nanachi). The original author, Akihito Tsukuhushi, also appeared via video call, while director Masayuki Kojima and producer Shinpei Yamashita appeared live. Rico Azuna’s video message was also included.

New characters were also introduced. They are Fapta (Misaki Kuno), Vueko (Yuka Terasaki), Uazkan (Hiroaki Hirota) and Belaf (Mitsuki Saiga).

Kinema Citrus animated the sequel to the hugely popular anime series, with the main staff returning. Directed by Masayuki Kojima, Hideyuki Kurata is responsible for the composition of the series. Kazuchika Kise and Yuka Kuroda design the characters, while Kevin Penkin returns to compose the music.

Made in Abyssis based on the manga of Akihito Tsukushi. The manga began serialization in 2012 at Takeshobo’sWeb comics range. There are currently 10 volumes with over 60 chapters. There are seven seaspublishing the manga in English. The anime adaptation of the manga premiered in the summer of 2017. The season was later condensed into 2 films in 2019, while the sequel to the film entitledMade in the movie Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soulfollowed in 2020.
